The Tornado was designed by Al Collins, and built by Ralph Stricker in the middle of a cornfield. Construction started in 1990 and finished in 1993. The ride runs a single Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters train. The Tornado is a mirror image of the former John Allen designed Comet at the now defunct Rocky Glen Park.
It is the center piece ride of Stricker's Grove, a private amusement park that is only open to the public 4 days per year. The park is available mostly for private parties, church picnics, family reunions, etc.
