This artwork was done in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Invercargill being incorporated.

The region's economy is based on grazing animals eating grass. With is in mind, Mrs P.I. Wilson created this sculpture with the following meaning:

Points upward: Aspiration, growth & progress

Entwined: Strength linked for co-operation

Revolving: For an all round view

This past year Invercargill City Council has adopted this symbol to be the corporate logo. (visit link)

The aluminum top rotates with the wind.
