This metal kinetic sculpture was created by Michael E. Kmiotek. It is located along a path in the Butterfly Garden section of the Botanical Gardens. This 6-foot x 4-foot sculpture is titled "Venus Flytrap" and it was created in 2008 (visit link). It depicts a fly buzzing around the carnivorous plant and another fly that has already been caught in its "trap". The "trap" opens and closes either by wind or with a push (visit link).

The following description of this hungry piece of art is from the FineArtAmerica website: "This sculpture is about six feet tall. The trap opens and shuts as the bug hovers below."
