The basin of this font may be Saxon, it is big enough for total immersion which was the practice in those times. It has been mounted on a circular limestone column atop an old mill grinding stone.

The font stands just inside the southern porch entrance to the church beneath an icon of The Blessed Virgin and Child Jesus and has a wooden cover which has polished brass scroll embelishment.
Approximate Age of Artefact: Thought that the basin may be Saxon.
