Marker Name: A11 - Deschutes County Library
Marker Text: Architect Albert E. Doyle, best known for his designs of the lodge at Multnomah Falls and Portland’s Benson Hotel, had a major influence on the design of the library. Its completion marked the end of nearly three and a half decades of nomadic existence for the library.
The Public Works Administration granted $13,500 in 1938 toward construction of the $30,000 building. It is the first permanent library in Deschutes County.
