This enormous statue, titled "Unconditional Surrender" by J. Seward Johnson, replicates the famous photo of a sailor kissing a nurse on the news of the Allied Victory in WWII...and is one of several memorials to San Diego's long history as a Navy town. The statue is located near the USS Midway Maritime Museum, a sculpture tribute to Bob Hope and other War and Veteran Memorials.

Open to the public 24 hours a day.
