The congregation was chartered in July 1872 as the First Baptist Church. The first church was a small wooden structure which was dedicated in September 1877. The current brick Oueen Anne style church building was constructed in 1892. The name of the church was changed to the Community Bible Church by a vote of the congregation in 1992. The bell tower is topped off with a steeply-pitched, bracketed, bell-cast roof.
