Tall, gilded abstract piece in the Denver Center for Performing Arts Complex

This tall piece is located near the west entrance of the Denver Center for Performing Arts Complex. From a distance, it appears to shimmer. Upon closer inspection, it is created with tens of thousands of 'thumbprints' of clay. The plaque reads:
