Baptist Church

The Baptist Church has had three sites.  Old Chariton was organized 1820, with twenty members.  1827 was moved to Monticello, then 1861 to Glasgow where a substantial brick house was built and sold in 1866 to the Presbyterians.  After some years the congregation erected present building, one of the most elegant churches in the county, at a cost of $12,000.00.   Dedicated 1871.
