This sculpture honors Jeanne H. Larson, former Library Director and staff member from 1948 to 1967. It was funded by contributions from the Larson family and others in the community.

From the Smithsonian description:
Two children, a boy and a girl, are sitting back to back with open books in their laps. The boy sits cross-legged and the girl balances her book on her knees. Both wear plain, casual clothes and the girl wears her hair in a single braid.
The sculpture resides in front of the Corvallis Public Library.
