Marker Text: In 1936, partners Maren Gribskov and Eleanor Bechen were looking to expand their restaurant operation and build their own facility in the English Tavern style. They found the perfect location overlooking the Deschutes River. The named for the large Ponderosa Pine that grows in the dining room. It is probably Bend’s most loved landmark.
