GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) Memorial Library was dedicated in 1939 after the library occupied multiple buidings in town. Initially the library roots were one a private nature until 1894 when the State of Massachusetts offered all towns $100 to establish public libraries. The library then turned over all the books to the town.
