Artesian well located along side of SR 13. Very clear, cold water suitable for drinking (at least, it didn't hurt me!).

This well has been flowing for my entire life (1957). The little well house has been pretty much as it is today for as long as I can remember. My family would stop here back in the 1960's to get a jug of the water. Back then as a child I was told it was mineral water. I do remember it had a strong taste I didn't like at all and it kind of smelled. That's a kid memory but it has never faded. Today the water tastes like regular well water to me but it sure didn't seem like that when I was a kid.
There is an old pole building you can see above the well up the hill behind it. That is an old wayside table picnic building. The entrance to the park was just to the south of the well. Don't go up there though its been private property for decades now.
Artesian wells seem to be a regular feature in the area. We have one on our property that has been flowing since 1949. It used to have about a 15 foot head but these days it only will only rise about 3 feet before flow cuts off. the water is always quite cold and we use it to cool the house in the summer.
