It is hard to believe today wondering about the very industrial landscape of Annacis Island that it had been farmland for over a hundred years.

CENTENNIAL HERITAGE SITE
ANNACIS ISLAND

Named after Francis Annance of the Hudson Bay Company party which camped here briefly in 1824. Patrick Murphy held the first land title in Delta, settling here in 1857. He was murdered in 1861. The island was farmed for 100 years and has been developed recently by Grosvenor International into a modern industrial estate.
