Firstly, this underwater world is not actually in the small town of Pattaya, but just south in the quieter and more respectably suburb of Jomtien, however, it is invariably referred to as "Underwater World Pattaya"—as the sign says. Obviously, this is due to Pattaya's tourist prominence.

The facility itself is a pleasant visit, fun and colourful. The underwater walk is maybe 15-20 mins long, there is a show every hour with scuba divers feeding and playing with the fish, it is well lit and presented. Apart from this there is not too much else, a gift shop (natch), a small 'touch the fish' set of tanks, and a cafe. I saw everything in less than an hour.

This is very much a 'look and picture' aquarium. There is no effort to educate visitors as to the wonders of aquatic science, flora and fauna. Fair enough.

Getting there. If you are in Pattaya a tuk tuk will cost you 200 baht (~$6su) one way, a 'motor bike taxi driver' 100 baht. There are day tours which include this stop over. Your driver can take you to tourist shops which can give you small entry discounts.

The aquarium is located in a suburban area, it look just a little out of place surrounded by small shops and hardware stores.
