Made in 1741 by Thomas Paris of Warwick. It cost £12 to buy, £5 of which was raised by levy and the rest by subscription. This is recorded in a memorandum in the church register for 7th February 1741.
Thomas was one of the famed Paris family of gunsmiths and clockmakers. Thomas worked mainly at building clocks and he also made them for churches in Coventry and Oxford and perhaps the gateway tower clock for Warwick Castle.
It has only one face, on the south side of the tower facing the old village.
