Rydal Hall was in the hands of the Le Fleming family until 1960s. Hall is now owned and managed by Carlisle diocese as a Retreat and accommodation centre. The bunk house is just one offer of accommodation for groups.

A completely self-contained Bunkhouse ideal for school or activity groups. Facilities include its own kitchen, bathroom/shower facilities, common room – with wood burning stove – and sleeping accommodation for 36 comprising of two dormitories (18 and 14) and two additional twin bunk rooms." from

The gardens are open for free each day, and were laid out by Landscape architect Thomas Mawson in 1911. Well worth a visit.
