Along the path to the Grotto before going through the tunnel, these words have been chiselled from a stone slab and fixed to a rock outcrop west of the path, in the free access grounds of Rydal Hall. Taken from Mark's Gospel in the Bible.

The quote has been variously translated depending on which version of the Bible you read.
Mark 6:31 lists many of them. Generally the Catholic version is closest to the quote.
The carving reads. "You must come away to some lonely place all by yourselves and rest for a while"
It asks us to abandon our worldly worries and seek a quiet place to reflect.
There is a metal tag below, which reads:
