There are two stone bridges across Rydal Beck in the grounds of Rydal Hall. This bridge is the upstream one next to the Tea Shop.

Of the two bridges this is the older. As Sir Daniel Fleming built the other, no doubt. The bridge is made from local slate rubble and is quite coarse in finish. The parapet has been topped with slate slabs.
