In a junkyard full of impressive, funny-looking auto part sculptures, this one is definitely the most humorous.

This statue reminded me of Gomer Pile, dopey yet lovable. This goofball is at the front entrance, immediately on the left. The statue is mostly all red with a small serving of blue. He leans back with his left hand outstretched, either hitchhiking or welcoming you, depending on your take. He is missing his right arm and is made of rotors, springs, gears and other parts, I know not.

Welcome to EL&M Auto Recycling & home of amazing auto part sculptures. They are everywhere! This is also a featured site on Roadside America. There is a diverse menagerie of characters, insects, flora & fauna and a whole cast of characters.

As for the rest of the sculpture garden, there is a fantastic collection of auto part sculptures located in the front. This is one of three junk yards mentioned on the Roadside Attractions website (which is how I discovered this), this one being the most impressive and prolific. The sculptures range from large to small, some are isolated and some are in groups. Most are people-based but a few are insects, plants and a large angry dog which frightened me!

The folks running the counter gave me permission to walk around and snap photos. The people in the office wanted to make very clear that these sculptures are the furthest one can go. Anything further back is off-limits for insurance reasons and you are asked to not go back there. They also told me the person who made these used to work here but has been gone for a long time.
