The Mechanic - Hammonton, NJ - Abstract Public Sculptures on Waymarking.com

This is the largest of all the cart part sculptures. He towers over the rest of the crowd. He is mostly white with a smattering of red and blue. He is the most original of all the sculptures and has the most diversified group of car parts. I noticed the artist has a large sense of humor. Let's just say the junk had some junk and I had to edit it out using Photoshop. I actually didn't notice it until I began to create the waymark. What an almost embarrassing oops this could have been!

Welcome to EL&M Auto Recycling & home of amazing auto part sculptures. They are everywhere! This is also a featured site on Roadside America. There is a diverse menagerie of characters, insects, flora & fauna and a whole cast of characters.

As for the rest of the sculpture garden, there is a fantastic collection of auto part sculptures located in the front. This is one of three junk yards mentioned on the Roadside Attractions website (which is how I discovered this), this one being the most impressive and prolific. The sculptures range from large to small, some are isolated and some are in groups. Most are people-based but a few are insects, plants and an angry dog which frightened me!

The folks running the counter gave me permission to walk around and snap photos. The people in the office wanted to make very clear that these sculptures are the furthest one can go. Anything further back is off-limits for insurance reasons and you are asked to not go back there. They also told me the person who made these used to work here but has been gone for a long time.
