Officially titled "Cruisin San Mateo" by the artist, it is often referred to derisively by the locals as "Chevy on a Stick." It was erected as part of a street-widening project on Gibson Boulevard (at San Mateo). There was a lot of controversy surrounding the cost and aesthetics of this piece at the time. It was created in 1991 by artist Barbara Grygutis and speaks to the car culture of the West.
