The only one-room schoolhouse remaining in Talbot County is a half mile southwest at Longwoods. Erected ca. 1885. The Talbot County Commissioners restored it in 1969 as a museum showing the development of education in this area. (Maryland Historical Society)

The schoolhouse is at the marker, not a half-mile southwest, as stated on the plaque. There is also a heavily damaged Benchmark (HV5644 (NGS Benchmark) on the site' s north side, near the road.
