The Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara—the Bodhisattva of infinite compassion. This Bodhisattva embodies the compassion of the Buddha, and is widely revered in Mahayana Buddhism. Avalokitesvara can take different forms, including the female. He is also known as the goddess KuanYim.
This set of statues is found outside the 7Makura hotel in Kampong Cham. They are located in a public area in front of the hotel, near the hotel pool, easily seen from the street. The statues are actively used as a shrine by the hotel staff and patrons, as well as members of the general public.
