Hanuman is a Hindu deity, a vanara, who are creatures with a monkey like form, and combative and mischievous in nature. They exist to serve Rama in his battle against the demon king Ravana. Hanuman's position is that of a general, commanding his fellow vanara.
Here, in the centre of the town of Kampong Cham, on a traffic roundabout, is a statue of Hanuman fighting a bull. It may come as no surprise that boxers in SEA sometimes ask Hanuman for assistance before climbing into the ring.
The statue was apparently commissioned by 'Carlsberg', I am assuming the beer.
Associated Religion(s): Hinduism.
Statue Location: traffic roundabout, near the town centre, near the river.
