Avebury is a large prehistoric monument site. The site has a large henge, several stone circles, stone avenues and barrows, surrounding the village of Avebury

The site has a large stone outer stone henge which originally had nearly 100 stones. Within this henge were two smaller stone circles with nearly 50 standing stones each. Avebury dates to 5,000 years ago and predates Stonehenge which is located to the south. Avebury is one of the largest largest Neolithic monuments in Europe.
Visitors are welcome to walk among the standing stone and along the tops the the surrounding berms.
