The City of Ottawa presents exhibits in the Karsh-Masson Gallery in order to promote and increase awareness of the visual arts and heritage of Ottawa. Exhibitions are chosen annually by a jury of professional artists and art specialists recognized in the community.
The types of exhibitions to be selected include:
- Local, national and international professional artists working in fine art, craft, design, and other new art forms,
- exhibitions from local universities and the diplomatic sector,
- exhibitions from the City's fine art collection as well as the archival and heritage collections, and;
- circulating exhibitions from other institutions.
The procedure for the selection of exhibits is:
- An annual invitation to artists is posted on our Web site and distributed through local art venues
- A jury committee of the arts community is assembled to review all proposals and to make a final selection based on the mandate of the Public Art Program's exhibitions
