This is an interesting station in that it has two names. The name on the station is "Tampin", however it is also known as "Pulau Sebang station" as it is situated in Pualu Sebang, on the Malacca side of the Malacca - Negeri Sembilan border, about 1km from Tampin town centre.
Its interesting to note the platforms are very low. The carriages all have steps to allow passengers to board.
Before WWII there was a branch line from here to Malacca. That line was dismantled by the Japanese and the rails used in the construction of the infamous Burmese Death Railway.
