It is hidden beside the boardwalk that surrounds Crawford Lake. It is known as Mr Twister to only a few of the locals. and the geocaching community. It would be interesting to see if there are more specimen of this particular species of tree in the area. One wonders why it has grown like this, is it genetic or a freak of nature? If it is genetic, have any nursery propagators found more of them? Is it being propagated? Where can you get one? We have worked in the nursery industry for years and haven't seen it in any catalogues. We were surprised by it.
Crawford Lake is
Open at 10 am daily.
Closing time varies by season:
November to June - 4pm
July & August - 5pm
Weekends in September & October - 5pm
Weekdays in September & October - 4pm
The boardwalk is wheelchair friendly in the summer months. Winter months maybe an issue. Check out Moccasin Trail as wel,l as it is wheelchair friendly as it is a wide crushed limestone trail.
