The beautiful building at 101-103 W. Oklahoma Avenue in downtown Guthrie is a contributing building to the Guthrie Historic District. Known as the Gray Bros. Building, it was constructed in 1890 by William H. and George Gray, who operated a grocery business at this location.
Their first tenant in 1894 was the Bank of Indian Territory who operated at the main ground floor space in this building. Its beveled, corner entrance is typical of bank locations at that time, and this building was especially ornate, with its capped oriel on the second floor above the entrance.
Some time in the early 20th Century, the occupancy housed the Oklahoma State Bank. The current occupants of the building include Country Corner Antiques and Treasures & Books.
An historical marker at curbside on the north side of the building documents the interesting history of this building, including its occupancy by both banks.
