The green neon sign "Busch's" has been illuminating the entrance to Busch's Florist on Jefferson City's south side at 620 Madison Street for much of the twentieth century. Hugo Busch,the founder was born in Germany and moved to Jefferson City after working in flower shops in St.Louis and Kansas City. The business started at this address in
1906. It was the dominant florist shop in Jefferson City throughout the 20th century and was a family run business and carried on the tradition of Hugo until 1997 after the his son
Arthur Busch's death and the sale of the business. Today it still does business as "Busch's Florist and Greenhouse".
