In Dortmund you find a wonderful pedestrian zone with many mals, small restaurants and a lot of historical places.
In December you can visit the Christmas market which fills most of the centre.
On the "Alter Markt" in Dortmund you find a historical plate with information about the old town-hall which was detroyed in WW2.
Translation of the plate (thanks to the reviewer in California!):
This was the location of the old Dortmund town hall which was built after a fire in 1240. Until it was destroyed by bombs in 1944, it was the oldest German brick-built town hall.
Group that erected the marker: city of dortmund
Address of where the marker is located. Approximate if necessary: Alter Markt Dortmund, Germany 44137
