On the grounds of the Grady County Courthouse at 326 W. Choctaw Avenue., on the south side, west of the main entrance, stands a commemoration to the 100th anniversary of Chickasha, Oklahoma.
The City celebrated by placing a Time Capsule, sealed on the 100th Anniversary of Chickasha in 1992. This capsule is to be opened on May 3, 2042.
The time capsule is a black marble stone. Facing the street, it reads "One Hundredth Anniversary/Chickasha, Oklahoma/1992." On the side facing the courthouse, it reads "Dedicated to citizens of Chickasha/to be opened May 3, 2042/Chickasha Centennial Committee"
A metal flagpole and the marble monument are mounted on a large concrete foundation. A metal light fixture on the block lights up the marble stone and flagpole at night.
