In 2004 the National Championships returned to Baton Rouge thanks to NABA and the Pennington Biomedical Research Facility. This prestigious event not only featured 40 National competitors, but 40 other balloons competing for the Louisiana State title. The event is now mostly limited to Louisiana and Southeastern pilots but is still just as big.
