The Norris Museum and Comfort Station were placed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 21, 1983. On May 28, 1987 it was combined with the Madison and Fishing Bridge Museums and designated a National Historic Landmark.

The Norris Museum is an impressive log structure, designed in a style that later became known as National Park Rustic. It forms the gateway into the Norris Geyser Basin, two areas of beautiful and awe-inspiring geothermal activity.
The log Comfort Station (restrooms) has been converted into a bookstore.
