This cabin was originally located along the Wilderness Road to Kentucky in Little Flat Lick, that was named by Boone because of it's location at the foot of Powell's Mountain and the abundance of game that was found here because of the natural salt licks in the area.
The cabin was dismantled in 1979/80 and moved to its present location here on the foundation of the Netherland slave cabin, home of a beloved slave named Jordan Netherland and his wife, Jane Lynn. This was the home of Daniel and Rebecca Boone from 1773 - 1775, and later the home of Ephraim Fraley.
It now serves as the childrens museum at the Historic Netherland Inn.
