The Trinity Baptist church has been a part of Chesham for 300 years. Prior to 1968 it was called Hinton Baptist Church. It joined with the nearby Zion Baptist Church in 1968 to become Trinity Baptist Church. Chesham itself used to be known for the 4 B's Beer, Brushes, Boots and Baptists.
Chesham has a long history of religious dissent starting with the persecution of the Lollards through to Thomas Harding being martyred in 1532. The 17th, 18th and 19th century saw a rapid increase in non conformist churches including the Baptists.
The current building was built in 1897 on land once occupied by the Punchbowl Beerhouse. Information from Chesham Museum.
