According to the sign the "Portable Boiler and Ajax Steam Engine was built by A. B. Farquhar, York, PA circa late 1800's or early 1900's. The engine was purchased by Luther & Jim Owens of the Steadman Community and was used to power a saw mill and a shingle mill until about 1940.
