This sign is just southeast of the Railroad Pass Hotel & Casino and just west of the junction where US Highway 95 splits off to the south toward Searchlight.

This sign is situated several miles west of the actual urban area of Boulder City. Apparently the Boulder City government wants to have lots of space for future growth. There is a substantial elevation change between this point and the city itself, possibly explaining the discrepancy in elevations on the sign and on the GPS.
