Syracuse Pond is stocked on a regular basis by Utah. I have caught some 3 pound trout in this lake. Utah stocks with lake, rainbow, brook, and brown trout. In the warmer months it is stocked with catfish. Bass, bream, and carp can also be caught in the lake, the state requests that you release all bass to help control the carp/bream populations in the lake. Pond usually freezes in January and Feburary and is open to ice fishing. Ice fishers catch on powerbait and night crawlers. Syracuse Pond is located in Jensen's Nature Park and has a boat ramp, bathrooms, a walking trail, nature path, and orienteering course.
Recommended tackle: Wooly Patterns, Midges, or Worms
Recommended fishing methods: You can float on the pond, wade, or you can use a not motorized boat. I either wade from the shore a couple of feet or fish from the bank. The pond isn't that big, floating isn't required to catch some big fish.
