The Rideau Hall gardens are an outstanding example of a blend of new and classic garden design. Expert gardeners maintain the colourful array of annual and perennial beds.
The grounds are open to the public year-round. On certain occasions, such as the Governor General's Garden Party, during horticultural tours and in the summer months, visitors may view the gardens as well. In winter, an outdoor skating rink is open to the public at certain hours.
This fountain is surrounded by pathways and dedicated benches, and offers a quiet place to sit and read. Operation starts after the weather warms up to above freezing, about the end of April.
