This historical marker tells about Governor W. L. Harding’s birthplace near here. The present owners of this property have done a beautiful job of landscaping around this plaque. It reads in full:
“W. L. Harding. Second native born governor of Iowa, son of Orlando B. and Emeline Moyer Harding, born October 3, 1875 in their home north 45 degrees, west 80 feet from this stone. Erected 1925 by the Historical Memorial and Art Department of Iowa.”
It can be found on the corner of Hwy. 59 and Co. Rd. A34.
