Loyalton is the only incorporated city in Sierra County. The city is located along Hway 70. The 2000 population was 862. Loyalton is mostly a farming and logging town.
Loyalton has a small downtown. The city hall is located in this area. The building is split between the city hall and the main fire station. It's located next to the train tracks and about a block from the main highway through town.
