This iconic structure is steeped in English history, and houses a magnificent museum.

The Tower, with the addtional buildings and fortifications on the site, has not only served as a fortress but also as a royal palace and prison. It has served as a place of execution, an armoury, a treasury, a zoo, a mint, a public records office, an observatory, and the headquarters of the Office of Ordnance (1400 to 1700). It still contains The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Museum and Regimental Headquarters and the Crown Jewels.
