The Shadows have acquired a great reputation due to their wolfram mines (quartz veins with wolframite black) that explored extensively during World War II due to its scarcity and high price. This metal was very important to the hardening of steel used in anti-aircraft shield. At this point, a large number of workers went in search of the popular metal. The mine of Shadows has become a sort of "El Dorado ". You can still see the guards and the rudimentary houses used during the development of mines. Are the remnants of abandoned dreams and wealth. Other minerals that are found in the Shadows are molybdenum and beryllium bluish red color, not to mention the exploitation of gold that was made by the Romans in these mountains.
The end of World War II brought down the prices of tungsten due to the entry of minerals from China, Burma and Bolivia. Exploring the Shadows of mine went into decline until its abandonment a few years later.
