Chisholm Trail park is a large city park, beautifully designed, with a walking trail shaped like a boot, numerous sculptures and landscaped areas, as well as ponds and fountains. Take time to walk through the park, enjoying everything it has to offer.
As you walk down the path from the parking lot at the north, you pass a large hill on your left, which can be climbed for a panoramic view of the park. Then, on your right, you pass a large pavilion, a monument to the early settlers of Yukon, a restrooms building, and then a small gazebo. It is 8-sided and made of wood, with a sheet metal roof. an 8-sided cupola tops the gazebo. A wood baluster railing is mounted on 6 of the 8 sides. The gazebo has a concrete floor and 4 picnic tables. A metal BBQ pit sits next to it. The gazebo may be reserved for personal use by contacting the city Parks & Recreation Department.
This is a beautiful area, with large green lawns, ponds with fountains, and stone bridges. Many community events are held in this park year round. A much larger gazebo is located at the south end of the park, which is used for "Concert in the Park" events and other community activities. It can also be reserved for private use.
