Edmond is known nationwide for its placement of outdoor public art. There are sculptures of all sorts located on every corner of the downtown area, as well as in its parks and shopping centers. You will see pieces about anywhere you go in town.
This sculpture was just placed in June 2011. It is located on the median of Boulevard, a few hundred feet south of Danforth. The base is a metal cube about 30 inches high, narrower at the top than the bottom. Although difficult to describe, it might be reminiscent of a large black teardrop that is split, with a curving piece, twisted and attached at both ends. The sculpture is black metal with an overall squiggly design in green.
This piece was created by Tom Woodward.
