The Baltimore & Annapolis Trail Park is a paved 13.3 mile rail trail located near picturesque Annapolis, Maryland. Formerly the route of the Old B&A Short Line Railroad from Severn to Glen Burnie, this paved bike trail is 10 feet wide, has a easy 2 percent grade and is popular with bicyclists, runners and walkers. The B & A Trail is part of the East Coast Greenway which will run from Maine to Flordia when complete.
At the north end of the trail, the B&A Trail connects to the BWI Airport Trail for another 11 miles of running
At the south end of the trail it is only a short 2 miles to the Naval Academy and Annapolis.
The trail while wooded is siturated in a suburban area with several places along the way. There is a rest stop at mile 7 with bathroom facilaities maintaied by the Park Service. Great stores along the way for sandwiches are Lucky's Supertte on the trail and FishPaws Market 100 feet off the trail.
