This bridge connects the Ponta do Sol pier to shore.
The Ponta do Sol Pier was built by comission from the Ponta do Sol City Hall from 1848 to 1850. It´s a project of the Eng. Tibério August Blanc and was given the name of Duke Maximilian of Leuchtenberg by the fact that this noble gave the amount necessary for the construction.
It´s quite unique with an arch in basalt conecting the pier built on the nearby rocks, to shore.
Today it´s an ex-libris of Ponta do Sol.
