"Towering over the entire business scene at 116 E Berry Street, stands the 22-story Lincoln National Bank and Trust Company Building, the tallest in Indiana. A steel structure of modern design, it is faced with Indiana Limestone, and had lead spandrels, terra-cotta top, and a cupola and observation tower." (Indiana: A Guide to the Hoosier State - 1941 p. 194)
Lincoln Tower still stands the same as 70 years ago when the Guide was written. The name has been changed slightly with Lincoln National Bank no longer being in existance. It is no longer the tallest building in Indiana, and is only the third tallest in Fort Wayne behind One Summit Square and the PNC Center.
